Christmas with War Outside Their Window<\/h2>\n

The holidays are approaching\u2014but in Ukraine this year, they will not be the joyful, peaceful celebrations we expect to experience in the U.S.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Many children will face Christmas without a parent for the first time, their hearts torn between grief and hope. Others will endure another Christmas<\/b> without their loved ones. The weight of uncertainty and the sound of sirens stand in stark contrast to the words of a beloved carol that originated in Ukraine:<\/p>\n

Hark how the bells, sweet silver bells. All seem to say, \u2018Throw cares away.\u2019
\nChristmas is here, bringing good cheer. To young and old, meek and the bold.<\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

A Christmas gift cannot change their reality or take away the sorrow, but it can remind a child in Ukraine that they are not forgotten. It might create a cherished memory, a small reason to smile in the darkest times.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hope for Children in India<\/h3>\n

In India, many children live in extreme poverty<\/b>, with little access to daily necessities\u2014let alone special celebrations. For them, Christmas may be the only day of the year they enjoy a simple treat like a soda and a piece of fruit. Even these small gifts bring delight and remind them that someone across the world cares. The children of Christian families in rural villages also face growing persecution<\/b> because of their faith. Together, we can make a lasting impact in their lives this Christmas. Our annual project \u201cChristmas Gifts\u201d helps us raise finances for orphans and children from poor\/disadvantaged families in India, Ukraine, and Moldova. Our local contacts (churches and charity organizations), buy and package sweets and fruits. Many times, a special Christmas celebration is held with music, singing, drama and games.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Christmas Outreach in Ukraine<\/h2><\/span>
<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Missionaries in Ukraine hold various Christmas outreach services during the holidays. Using available resources, they act out the Christmas story, sing songs and distribute gifts. Praise God for freedom in Ukraine to just go into the town squares and on the streets to sing carols and preach to anyone passing by.<\/p>\n<\/div>
